The Campus Alert Archive is provided for educational and research purposes. The content on this site is intended to support academic study, journalism, policy analysis, and public understanding of campus emergency communication systems.

Not Legal or Safety Advice

Nothing on this site constitutes legal advice, safety recommendations, or a substitute for official campus security reports. Accounts and Saved Items

You do not need an account to use this site. An optional, free account adds one feature: a private list of saved cases and alerts with your own notes. You may sign in with a one-time email link or with Google (OAuth). You are responsible for what you write in your notes and must not store unlawful content there. Saved lists carry a fair-use cap on the number of items, and we may suspend or remove accounts that abuse the service. The feature is provided as-is and may change or be retired; you can export your list at any time from the My Saves page, and you can ask us to delete your account through the contact form. How account data is handled is described in the Privacy Policy.

Attribution and Reuse

The compilation, metadata, summaries, and annotations in this archive are available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). You are free to share and adapt the data for any purpose, provided you give appropriate credit to the Campus Alert Archive and indicate if changes were made. Verbatim alert and policy texts remain the work of their issuing institutions, are not covered by the CC BY license, and are reproduced under fair use. DMCA and Content Removal

If you are an authorized representative of an institution and believe that content on this site infringes on your copyright, please submit a request through the contact form with the following information: identification of the copyrighted work, the specific URL of the allegedly infringing content, and your contact information. We will respond to valid requests promptly.

Clery Act emergency notifications and timely warnings are, however, federally mandated public safety communications, and we believe their reproduction for educational and research purposes constitutes fair use.
